Located on Liebenzell USA's 150-acre property, Emmaus Farm is ninety acres of enormous potential. As a residential student at Global Impact Academy, you'll take part in revitalizing this land by volunteering two hours each day at the farm to learn practical skills like cultivating crops and raising animals. In this way you'll get familiar with agriculture in the rural areas where you might serve, as well as have the option to become self-sufficient in your future ministry.
Community & non-residential students have the option to volunteer in the gardening and farming program as they are able to.
History
In 1945, the Liebenzell USA mission expanded its property by purchasing the farm and farmhouse adjacent to their mission headquarters on Schooley's Mountain. They called the place Emmaus. Not only did this farm provide food for the mission, but the farmhouse became a place of refuge for German missionary families who came in from the mission fields.
curriculum
Over the course of the GIA program, you'll take 5 classes covering the terminology, concepts, and standards of agriculture around the world.
